Who are we?
The staff of the WCTCOG 9-1-1 Program has a combined over one hundred years of service in the 9-1-1 industry. We plan, implement, and oversee the 9-1-1 network for eighteen counties. Our services include providing essential 9-1-1 equipment, software, supplies, and training for the 18 Public Safety Answering Points; assigning 9-1-1 addresses for new and existing structures; maintaining and providing accurate county maps; ensuring wireline and wireless networks are in place and operating so 9-1-1 calls and texts are routed correctly and 9-1-1 Telecommunicators get correct information about the emergency; and providing 9-1-1 public education materials and programs to health fairs, schools, after school programs, community events, businesses, and organizations.
What are the 18 Public Safety Answering Points?
The 18 Public Safety Answering Points are the 9-1-1 offices in each of the eighteen WCTCOG region counties. These 18 Public Safety Answering Points ensure that each county that falls under the WCTCOG Region has a 9-1-1 office that its residents can reach out to for help in an emergency.
